Approximately 1300 new cases of thyroid cancer are reported each year in Algeria, this statistics was revealed in Algiers Semrouni by Professor Mourad, head of department of endocrinology at the center of the fight against cancer "Pierre et Marie Curie.
Although this is considered to be not a widespread in Algeria, thyroid cancer is among the conditions treated at the level of services of endocrinology.
For his part, Professor Zahra Kemali, Head of Department of Endocrinology at the central hospital of the army indicated that the rate of patients suffering from thyroid cancer hospitalized at this institution varies represents 30 to 40% of patients with endocrine disorders.
The study days on endocrine disorders are part of continuing education for doctors including screening, treatment of these disorders and monitoring their evolution throughout the national territory.
Professor Karim Chaou CHU Beni Messous for his part described the disorders of parathyroid glands that these glands controlling rate of calcium in the body.
Disorders of calcium are the origin of fragile bones that can undergo repeated fractures, he said.
He stressed the need to analyze and parathormnie calcium to prevent these disorders and prevent complications.
